What do you do when life feels uncertain and God feels quiet?
In this 6-week study through the Book of Habakkuk, Jodi Hendricks walks through the honest questions, deep wrestlings, and powerful faith journey of the prophet Habakkuk. As Habakkuk recounts the mighty works and faithfulness of God, his fear begins to give way to renewed trust, peace, and hope.
This study is an invitation to do the same.
Together, we’ll learn how to:

“Don’t doubt in the darkness what you knew in the light.”

In Week 1, we begin where Habakkuk begins: with honest questions.
As the prophet looks around at the violence, corruption, and brokenness surrounding him, he cries out to God with a question many of us have asked in our own difficult seasons:
“How long, O Lord?”
This opening lesson reminds us that faith is not the absence of questions—it’s bringing those questions to God. Habakkuk teaches us that God is not intimidated by our confusion, frustration, or waiting. Even when He feels silent, He is still present and still at work.
Together, we’ll explore:
If you’ve ever wrestled with unanswered prayers, confusing circumstances, or the feeling that God seems distant, this week’s lesson will encourage you to keep bringing your heart honestly before Him.
Because sometimes faith begins not with certainty… but with the courage to cry out.

What do you do when God answers your prayer… but it’s not the answer you wanted?
In Lesson 2 of When God Feels Silent: Recounting His Faithfulness in Uncertain Times, we follow Habakkuk as he receives a response from God that leaves him even more confused than before. Instead of immediate rescue or revival, God reveals that He is raising up the Babylonians—a ruthless and wicked nation—to accomplish His purposes.
As Habakkuk wrestles with this unexpected answer, he discovers a truth we all need in seasons of uncertainty: when we don’t understand God’s answer, we must anchor ourselves in God’s character.
In this lesson, we explore:
If you’ve ever struggled with unanswered questions, unexpected outcomes, or a season that didn’t unfold the way you hoped, this lesson will encourage you to trust the God who is still working—even when you don’t understand His plan.

What do you do when the answer hasn't come, the door remains closed, and God's timing doesn't make sense?
In Lesson 3 of When God Feels Silent, we slow down and examine one of the most powerful verses in all of Scripture:
"The righteous shall live by faith." (Habakkuk 2:4)
As Habakkuk waits for God to act, the Lord reminds him that the vision has an appointed time and calls him to a life of faith. But this isn't a call to blind optimism or wishful thinking. It's an invitation to anchor our faith in the unchanging character of God.
Together we'll explore what it means to live by faith, why God's timing can be trusted, and how a deeper understanding of His character transforms the way we walk through seasons of uncertainty.
Key Themes:
If you've ever found yourself asking, "Lord, what are You doing?" this lesson will encourage you to shift your focus from finding answers to knowing the One who holds them.
"Though it delays, wait for it, since it will certainly come and not be late." (Habakkuk 2:3)

Why does it seem like evil prospers while righteousness struggles? Does God really see the injustice around us—or in our own lives?
In Lesson 4 of When God Feels Silent, we explore God's response to one of Habakkuk's deepest questions: "What about Babylon?" Through five prophetic woes, God reveals that He sees every act of greed, pride, oppression, and idolatry—and none of it escapes His notice.
But these woes are more than warnings of judgment. They are powerful revelations of God's character. Each one reveals something God loves too much to ignore: righteousness, trust, His glory, people, and true worship.
As Habakkuk waits for God's justice to unfold, God doesn't give him a timeline—He gives him a deeper understanding of who He is. And in the process, Habakkuk discovers what we all need in seasons of uncertainty: peace that comes not from understanding God's plans, but from knowing God's heart.
Watch Lesson 4 and discover how the God who saw Hagar in the wilderness, spoke to Habakkuk on the watchtower, and reigns from His holy temple is the same God who sees you today. ❤️
